In the Ulyanovsk region, 36 people were prosecuted for drug trafficking in the first nine months of 2025, the regional prosecutor's office told the newspaper "Kommersant-Volga." At the same time, two-thirds of them were released from criminal prosecution "in connection with the signing of relevant contracts, all of them are now participating in a special military operation."
"Understanding how harsh the sentence would be, they decided to atone for their guilt, as they say, with blood," noted the Ulyanovsk region prosecutor's office.
According to calculations by "Idel.Realii"*, at least 1,521 natives of the Ulyanovsk region have already died in the war with Ukraine.
