Security forces detained a 51-year-old resident of Novosibirsk in connection with the explosion on a section of the Trans-Siberian Railway in the Trans-Baikal Territory, reported the FSB Public Relations Center.
A criminal case was initiated against her under the article on sabotage, and FSB officers are also investigating her under articles on treason and illegal possession of explosives and explosive devices. The court sent the woman to a pre-trial detention center.
According to the investigation, in August, “following instructions provided by the adversary, the suspect made an improvised explosive device from publicly available components, which she placed on the railway tracks and activated.” Security forces claim that she recorded the moment of the explosion on a mobile phone camera and sent the recording as a report to her supervisor to receive the reward.
On camera, the detainee stated that she was offered to commit sabotage for a reward of eight thousand dollars. She carried out the railway explosion in one of the Trans-Baikal settlements.
