Politician Vladimir Kara-Murza* declared wanted

In August, he was denied a foreign passport citing data from bailiffs

The Ministry of Internal Affairs declared politician Vladimir Kara-Murza wanted, who was released from the colony in the summer of 2024 as part of a prisoner exchange. The information about the search was found by «Mediazona»* in the department's database.

It is unknown under which article the politician is being sought. In August, Kara-Murza was denied the issuance of a Russian foreign passport abroad, the Russian embassy in the USA referred to a letter from the Federal Bailiff Service dated July 2, 2025, and the current travel restriction from Russia.

In 2023, the politician was sentenced to 25 years in prison on charges of treason, spreading «fakes» about the army, and cooperating with an «undesirable» organization. In August 2024, he was released as part of a prisoner exchange. Kara-Murza crossed the German border with an internal document, as at that time the validity of the foreign passport had already expired.

In 2015 and 2017, Kara-Murza was hospitalized with symptoms of poisoning. Later, investigators from Bellingcat** found out that before the first poisoning, FSB officers were following Kara-Murza, including the alleged participant in the poisoning of Alexei Navalny*** with «Novichok» Konstantin Kudryavtsev.
