He was charged with two posts published on a Telegram channel in the spring of 2022

The Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow sent the Deputy Chairman of the "Yabloko" party, Maxim Kruglov, to a pre-trial detention center, reported "Mediazona"*. The day before, he was detained and charged under the article on spreading military "fakes" for two posts on a Telegram channel in the spring of 2022: about Bucha and about peaceful Ukrainians who died during the invasion. In the posts, the politician referred to UN data.

The defense requested house arrest or a ban on certain actions and insisted that Kruglov would not flee—he did not resist during the arrest, and his foreign passport has already been confiscated. The man himself noted: two and a half years ago, his posts on the Telegram channel did not raise any questions, and he does not understand what has changed now.

Kruglov was a deputy of the VII Moscow City Duma, and in 2023 he became the Deputy Chairman of "Yabloko". This summer, the politician tried to organize pickets against the installation of a bas-relief of Joseph Stalin at the "Taganskaya" metro station in Moscow.
