A serious cyberattack disabled European airports, causing a large-scale disruption

2025.09.20

The issues affected airports in Berlin, London, Brussels, and other European cities

Last night, a cyberattack on an external service provider caused serious disruptions at airports across Europe. In Berlin, access to systems was completely shut down for security reasons, leading to long queues, delays, and flight cancellations, the airport administration reported, writes BILD.

A similar situation occurred in Brussels, where authorities warned of "significant disruptions" and advised passengers to arrive early.

London's Heathrow Airport also reported issues, calling them a "technical failure." Meanwhile, the service provider, whose systems are used at many European aviation hubs, is trying to restore operations.
