In the Kirovsky Court of Yekaterinburg, the parties debated the case of 70-year-old former UrFU professor Mikhail Volkov, the father of politician Leonid Volkov. The state prosecutor requested a 600 thousand ruble fine for the 70-year-old mathematician in the case of financing the "Anti-Corruption Foundation," reported a "Mediazona"*** correspondent from the courtroom.

At the same time, as mitigating circumstances, the prosecutor cited the admission of guilt and remorse, Volkov's health condition and a number of chronic diseases, many positive characteristics both at his place of residence and in scientific activities, as well as his advanced age and donation to a charitable organization.

Lawyer Alexey Bushmakov asked to acquit his client, as Volkov fully admitted his guilt and actively assisted the investigation.

According to the investigation, on August 5 and September 5, 2021, Mikhail Volkov transferred 1000 rubles each from his account in "Sberbank" to the "extremist" "Anti-Corruption Foundation."

Mikhail Volkov is a mathematician and professor who worked for 49 years at the Ural Federal University (UrFU).
