The Prosecutor General's Office filed an anti-corruption lawsuit in the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow against the head of JSC «Eurasian», former Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia Stanislav Svetlitsky, reported «Kommersant».
The supervisory authority demands the return of «Rostovvodokanal» to the state — the largest water supply enterprise in the Southern Federal District. The lawsuit, initiated by Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov, claims that the former official illegally acquired the company and used it for personal enrichment, despite the fact that in Russia the privatization of utility infrastructure necessary for the functioning of the housing stock is prohibited.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, former mayor of Rostov-on-Don Mikhail Chernyshov helped Svetlitsky acquire the asset. The illegal scheme was carried out in 2005–2006: first, the municipal «Vodokanal» was transformed into a joint-stock company, then Chernyshov obtained permission for its sale through the «controlled» city council and announced a privatization tender, where only two structures participated — «NK Leasing» and «Eurasian». Both belonged to Svetlitsky.
As a result, he became the owner of the enterprise with a market asset value of 4.6 billion rubles.
