Elena Lipzer's son, lawyer Alexei Lipzer, was arrested in 2023 along with other defenders of Alexei Navalny, Vadim Kobzev* and Igor Sergunin*. They were accused of participating in an "extremist community" for transmitting information from the politician from the colony to his associates. In January, Lipzer was sentenced to five years in prison for participating in an "extremist" community. Since he is convicted, he is legally entitled to a farewell, but the authorities still keep him in pre-trial detention, and in practice, there is no way out from there.
