The regional ministry of information and mass communications announced more than a threefold increase in payments for signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense.
According to the department, taking into account payments from all sources, including municipal payments, contract soldiers can receive a total of up to 3.7 million rubles in the first month of service.
Meanwhile, some regions have reduced the amounts of regional payments, including Bashkortostan, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Samara, Belgorod, and Novgorod regions. The authorities of YNAO explained this by the large influx of applicants.
Another possible reason is that the regions simply no longer have money. The budgets of 67 regions went into deficit, which is "atypical for the first half of the year." Economist Natalya Zubarevich believes that the situation will only worsen by the end of the year: in December, there will be large expenses for closing government contracts.
