French President Emmanuel Macron warned European allies not to trust Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom he called «a cannibal at our gates».
«Putin rarely fulfilled his commitments», — Macron told the LCI channel. «He has constantly been a destabilizing force. He has sought to redraw borders to strengthen his power».
A country that spends 40 % of its budget on armaments and has mobilized over 1.3 million soldiers will not return to peace and democracy overnight, the French president is convinced.
Macron added that he is not declaring a direct threat of an attack on France. However, he is certain that Russia's actions pose a constant risk to all of Europe.
