On the night of July 12, Russian military massively attacked Ukraine with strike drones and missiles. Explosions were heard in many regions, particularly in the capital. The main strike was on Western Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelensky stated that during the night, Russian military launched 26 cruise missiles and 597 drones at Ukraine, more than half of which were strike "Shaheds". Air defense forces neutralized more than 20 missiles and the overwhelming number of strike drones.

In Lviv, a drone destroyed the entrance of a residential building, causing a gas leak. According to Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi, 46 houses, including residential ones, a kindergarten, many windows were shattered, and dozens of cars were damaged as a result of the shelling. Three buildings of the National University "Lviv Polytechnic" were damaged in the attack.

According to the head of Lviv OVA Maksym Kozytskyi, six people were injured, including an 11-year-old boy.

In Lutsk, a private residential house was completely destroyed.

In Chernivtsi, a 26-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man died from falling debris, four are in critical condition, and 10 more people received minor injuries, reported the head of Chernivtsi OGA Ruslan Zaparanyuk, noting that the region was attacked by one missile and four drones. Several residential houses, shops, administrative buildings, and cars were damaged due to the attack.

During the night attack, Russia struck Kharkiv at least 10 times, using eight drones and two KABs. Two people were injured, reported the city's mayor Ihor Terekhov. According to him, one of the strike drones of the "Shahed" type damaged a critical infrastructure facility.
