In St. Petersburg, security forces detained a 23-year-old girl at the moment of planting a bomb under the car of a defense enterprise employee. She worked for the Ukrainian special services to obtain citizenship of one of the EU countries, reported RIA «Novosti» citing the FSB's COS, publishing a video of the bomb planting moment.
According to the FSB, in June 2024, she «proactively established contact with a representative of the special service» via messengers, informing him of her «willingness to participate in sabotage and terrorist activities to assist in leaving and obtaining citizenship of one of the EU countries».
Besides preparing for the attack, according to the special service, the girl, on the curator's assignment, painted pro-Ukrainian inscriptions in public places in the Moscow region and attempted to set fire to a railway infrastructure facility.
In April 2025, she arrived in St. Petersburg, where she observed an employee of one of the defense enterprises all this time and prepared the attack, claims the FSB. A criminal case has been initiated under articles on «attempted terrorist attack», «illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, sending, or carrying of explosives or explosive devices». The court sent the girl to a pre-trial detention center.
