The Soviet District Court of Makhachkala seized the property of the former state enterprise "Dagnefteprodukt" — the only operator for transshipping oil entering the Makhachkala sea trading port — in favor of the state. Thus, the court satisfied the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office against the State Secretary of the Republic Magomed-Sultan Magomedov and his relatives.
At the same time, the official, who was arrested the day before, personally appeared in court and admitted the violation of anti-corruption legislation committed by him. "Under the pressure of a significant amount of collected evidence, Magomed-Sultan Magomedov acknowledged the results of the prosecutor's inspection, that is, the revealed circumstances of abuse of power and the enrichment of his family at the expense of state assets," a source in law enforcement agencies told "Kommersant".
At the same time, as TASS reported on Thursday morning, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation filed a lawsuit in the Makhachkala court to transfer the oil refinery (refinery) and a number of other real estate objects to the state, against the detained State Secretary of Dagestan Magomed-Sultan Magomedov and his relatives. However, after the court, the agency reported that Magomedov was released on his own recognizance not to leave.
It was previously reported that searches were conducted at Magomedov's place and he was detained.
Magomedov headed "Dagnefteprodukt" from 1991 to 2010. In 2005, the company was privatized, and in 2021 it was transformed into LLC "Kaspetrolservice", which became part of LLC "MSB Holding" of the State Secretary of Dagestan's son.
