Russian troops struck the Nikopol district of the Dnipropetrovsk region from the evening of June 18, targeting private homes in residential areas, reported the head of the regional military administration, Serhiy Lysak.
Initially, local authorities reported five injured, including an 11-year-old boy. He is in the hospital, as are three other adults. Later it became known that a 59-year-old man, who was in serious condition, died in the hospital.
As a result of the attack, private homes, infrastructure, and vehicles were damaged.
In total, on the night of June 19, Russian forces launched 104 "Shahed" type drones and a decoy drone over Ukraine, 88 drones were neutralized, reported the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin, as part of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, met with foreign journalists who asked about the attack on residential buildings in Kyiv on June 17, when 28 people died and more than 130 were injured. Putin stated that "the strike was not on residential areas, but on defense industry facilities, on factories producing military equipment," not forgetting to note that "the Ukrainian leadership itself started the war on its own territory."
