The Moscow City Court toughened the punishment for the former municipal deputy of Zyuzino, Anton Grishin, in the case of 'financing extremist activities' due to donations to the Anti-Corruption Foundation*, reports the project 'Support for Political Prisoners. Memorial'.

On appeal, Grishin was sentenced to three and a half years of imprisonment. He was taken into custody in the courtroom.

In February, the court of first instance sentenced the Muscovite to a fine of 350 thousand rubles. The court also ordered the confiscation of Grishin's phone for the benefit of the state and the destruction of a badge with the letter 'N'. The items were seized from the convict during a search.

The prosecutor requested four years in a penal colony during the pleadings. The defense asked for a punishment not related to imprisonment, as Grishin supports his entire family, including a young child.

In August 2021, the ex-deputy set up a monthly donation to the Anti-Corruption Foundation in the amount of 500 rubles. A total of seven deductions were made, amounting to three and a half thousand rubles.

Grishin pleaded guilty and said he wanted to support the investigation of corruption.
