Iranian missiles hit residential buildings, killing eight people, 20 are missing, more than 140 were injured

On Sunday night, Israel and Iran exchanged strikes: Israel struck the world's largest gas field, and Iranian missiles hit residential buildings.

Tehran canceled nuclear program talks, which Washington said were the only way to stop Israeli bombings, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that these strikes are nothing compared to what Iran will see in the coming days.

Iranian media reported that Israeli forces struck the Shahran oil storage in Tehran. According to the Tasnim news agency, a fire broke out on Sunday after an Israeli strike on an oil refinery near the capital, and Israeli forces also struck the Iranian Ministry of Defense building, causing minor damage.

As a result of the strike on the world's largest gas field in South Pars, a fire started, and production was halted. This field, located offshore in Iran's southern Bushehr province, is the source of most of the gas produced in Iran.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that Israel destroyed a uranium processing plant and a nuclear reactor fuel plate production facility during a strike on Isfahan.

After a day of continuous Israeli attacks on military facilities, Iran's strikes began. Israel's emergency service reported that at least seven people were killed overnight, including a 10-year-old boy and a woman around 20 years old, with more than 140 people injured in multiple attacks.

Israeli media reported that at least 20 people are missing after a strike on Bat Yam, a city south of Tel Aviv. A missile hit an 8-story building, and although many people were rescued, there are casualties. Six people died, and more than a hundred were injured. Local communities reported that the building in Bat Yam was high-rise but old and lacked protected rooms (mamad). People had to go to a communal bomb shelter on the street, and apparently, not everyone did.

In Rehovot, missiles, in addition to residential buildings, hit one of the buildings of the Weizmann Institute research center.

At the moment, at least ten people have died in Israel, and more than 300 have been injured since Iran's retaliatory strikes began on Friday.

Iran stated that 78 people died on the first day of the Israeli campaign, and dozens more on the second, including 60 when a missile destroyed a 14-story residential building in Tehran.

US President Donald Trump warned Iran that the situation would worsen, but again offered a deal, noting that it's not too late to stop the Israeli campaign if Tehran agrees to drastically reduce its nuclear program.

Tehran warned Israel's allies that their military bases in the region would also be targeted if they help shoot down Iranian missiles.
