Donald Trump, commenting on the SBU operation to destroy Russian military aircraft, stated that it 'gave Putin a reason to bomb the hell out of' Ukrainians, referring to yesterday's massive Russian strike on the country, which resulted in the deaths of three people and more than fifty injured.
'That's what I didn't like [about the operation]. When I saw it, I said: 'That's it, now there will be a strike',' explained Trump. At the same time, he mentioned that he had asked Putin not to respond to the Ukrainian operation.
The American president also expressed hope that nuclear weapons would not be used in the course of the Russia-Ukraine war.
Meanwhile, Vladimir Zelensky, in an interview with ABC News, responded to an earlier statement by Trump, in which he compared Russia and Ukraine to 'two little kids fighting like crazy.' 'They hate each other, and they fight in the park, and you try to separate them. They don't want to be separated. Sometimes it's better to let them fight for a while, and then separate them,' wrote Trump.
'We are not kids with Putin on a playground in the park. He is a killer who came to this park to kill children,' reacted Zelensky.
According to him, Trump cannot fully feel and understand the pain of Ukrainians. 'It's not about President Trump, but about anyone who is not here, in the country, [those who are] thousands of miles away cannot fully feel and understand this pain,' added Zelensky.
