A doctor from the children's hospice 'House with a Lighthouse' (accompanies terminally ill children), Violetta Gorynya, died when a bridge collapsed onto a passenger train in the Bryansk region, reported the founder of the hospice, Lidia Moniava.
Gorynya was on maternity leave and was traveling on the train with her husband and two children, the eldest of whom is seven years old, and the youngest is five months old. The children are in a hospital in Moscow with multiple fractures, while the husband was practically unharmed, wrote Moniava.
The doctor from the Research Institute of Emergency Pediatric Surgery and Traumatology, Semyon Meshcheryakov, reported that two children were admitted to the doctors: the four-month-old child has fractures of bones, the skull vault, pelvic bones, femur bones, and a lung contusion, his condition is serious, the seven-year-old boy has a traumatic brain injury, a concussion, a fracture of the collarbone, his condition is moderately severe.
The number of injured in the passenger train during the bridge collapse on Saturday increased to 97 people, reported RIA 'Novosti' citing the Ministry of Health. 64 people are in hospitals.
