The Command of the Ground Forces reported that as a result of the missile strike on the unit of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 12 soldiers were killed, and another 60 were injured.
The military noted that no formations or mass gatherings of personnel were conducted. «After the air raid signal was announced, most of the personnel were in shelters. All necessary qualified medical assistance is being provided to the injured», — stated in the message of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
To clarify all the circumstances and causes of the personnel losses, a commission has been created and an official investigation has been appointed by the command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The command and personnel of the operational command «East» will also provide full assistance to the work of law enforcement agencies.
«In the event it is established that the actions or inaction of officials led to the death and injury of military personnel, those responsible will be held strictly accountable», — noted the military.
In 2023, Russia struck the location of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade in the Zaporizhzhia region. At that moment, a ceremonial award presentation for Artillery Day was taking place on November 3. Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the Iskander-M missile strike on the gathering of military personnel. As a result of the shelling, about 20 military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were killed, and about 30 people were injured, including civilians.
