The Investigative Committee stated that the cause was explosions, criminal cases on terrorism were initiated, then the message was deleted

UPD: The Investigative Committee announced that the bridges in the Bryansk and Kursk regions collapsed as a result of explosions. Criminal cases on terrorism were initiated regarding the disasters. Later, the publication was deleted, and now the agency no longer refers to the incident as an explosion. In the new version, it only states that in the Bryansk region, a "structure collapse occurred," and in Kursk, a "train fell from a damaged bridge."

As the "Agency"* found out, a video surveillance system was installed on the overpass over the railway in the Bryansk region in 2024, which was supposed to protect against "acts of illegal interference." Additionally, repair work was attempted twice in recent years, but both times the contract was terminated.

In the Vygotsinsky district of the Bryansk region on the evening of May 30, a road bridge over the railway collapsed at the moment when passenger train No. 86 Klimov — Moscow was passing. At least seven people died, including the driver and his assistant. 69 people were injured, including three children.

According to SHOT, the bridge was blown up a minute before the passenger train passed, and the locomotive of the train crashed into the already collapsed structure of the overpass, which consisted of a two-lane road. The roadway fell onto the tracks at a 45-degree angle along with a truck passing over it.

Telegram channels and military bloggers associated with law enforcement immediately wrote about the bridge explosion. Later, the authorities confirmed this version, and the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, stated that the collapse of the road bridge occurred as a result of an explosion.

The second bridge collapsed at night in the Kursk region, near the 49th kilometer of the Trosna-Kalinovka highway. According to the head of the region, Alexander Khinshtein, part of the railway bridge collapsed onto the road passing under it. A fire on the locomotive started, which was quickly extinguished. The causes of the bridge collapse are being established, Khinshtein added.

Russian Railways stated that the derailment of the locomotive and three empty cars occurred due to the collapse of the bridge span on the Ostapovo — Mikhaylovsky mine section. The Investigative Committee is working on-site, investigating the causes and details of the collapse. The Moscow Transport Prosecutor's Office published photos from the site of the freight train crash in the Kursk region.

According to Baza, one of the locomotive drivers has leg injuries, and the entire locomotive crew was taken to the hospital.
