The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine warned of the threat of a large-scale airstrike “within the next few days”

The “three-day truce” has ended, the Kremlin refuses a 30-day ceasefire

The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine on the evening of May 9 urged citizens to be cautious due to the risk of a large-scale airstrike “within the next few days.”

The message from the American embassy states that it “has received information about a potentially significant airstrike that could occur at any moment within the next few days.”

“The embassy, as always, recommends that U.S. citizens be prepared to immediately take shelter in the event of an air raid alert,” added the diplomatic department.

The U.S. Embassy warning in Ukraine appeared against the backdrop of the end of the “three-day truce” declared by Vladimir Putin due to the May 9 celebrations. Meanwhile, Russia attacked Ukrainian cities, but not as intensively.

The U.S. and European allies are finalizing a proposal for a 30-day truce, and Russia's refusal could result in new sanctions. On the eve, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced that the truce could be concluded as early as this weekend.

Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov in an interview with ABC News stated that Putin rejects the possibility of a 30-day ceasefire if the West does not stop supplying weapons to Ukraine.

“This would be an advantage for Ukraine. Ukraine will continue full mobilization, will transfer new troops to the front line. It will use this time to train new military personnel and give rest to those who are already fighting. So why should we give Ukraine such an advantage?” stated Putin's press secretary.
