The Investigative Committee reported on the investigation of the case of preparing a terrorist attack and attempted murder of a military member of one of the volunteer battalions of the Ministry of Defense participating in the war. According to the IC, two men — a native of Ukraine and a citizen of Belarus — allegedly prepared an explosion in Khanty-Mansiysk. A detained citizen of Moldova, who delivered components of a homemade explosive device in a personal minibus «transit through Poland, Lithuania, and Belarus», is also being checked for involvement in the terrorist act. They allegedly assembled the bomb themselves, and on April 12 it detonated — two apartments were destroyed, five people were injured, including the bombers themselves. At the same time, local authorities then stated that the cause of the explosion was gas.
As RBC writes, a criminal case has been initiated on preparation for a terrorist attack, attempted murder, and intentional destruction of property. All the defendants were taken into custody.
The IC claims that the men are «agents of Ukrainian special services», who were supposed to eliminate a participant in the war in Ukraine.
