RIA 'Novosti', citing the FSB, reported on the detention of Moldovan citizen Marius Prunianu, who 'on the orders of Ukrainian military intelligence brought explosives to Russia to carry out terrorist attacks'.
According to law enforcement, Prunianu fought on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2022-2023, and then returned to Moldova. There he bought an SUV in which he equipped a cache with three explosive devices. He then traveled through Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, and the Baltics to Russia to place explosives in caches in Volgograd and Saratov, but was detained. In addition, he was also promised a pistol 'to eliminate a certain person', claims the FSB.
Another Moldovan citizen, Evgeny Kurdoglu, was detained in Kerch, suspected of gathering intelligence on the Russian army and 'preparing a terrorist attack' at a water pumping station.
Two 'saboteurs' were detained in Samara, the FSB reported. According to the investigation, Russians Sergey Okrushko and Irina Izmailova were recruited by Ukraine in Moldova. Okrushko allegedly agreed to cooperate in exchange for monetary reward and the promise of Ukrainian citizenship. Izmailova, it is claimed, was recruited under pressure — she was threatened with harm to relatives who remained in Ukraine. Both underwent training in Chisinau, where they were also tested on a polygraph, after which they were transferred to Samara.
