The driver was injured, local authorities hid it again

As reported by ASTRA*, on April 8 in the Yakovlevsky municipal district of the Belgorod region, a bomb 'unexpectedly detached' from a Russian plane and fell on a road just as two civilian cars were passing.

The FAB fell right in front of the car of 36-year-old local resident Rasuljon, it did not explode, and a crater formed in the road. The driver received multiple shrapnel injuries and was hospitalized, sources in the region's medical services reported.

Eyewitnesses told ASTRA that emergency services prohibited local residents from photographing the scene and posting any information on social media to 'prevent destabilizing the situation'.

Officially, no information about the incident was released anywhere.

The administration of the Yakovlevsky district warned local residents about the road closure immediately after the bomb fell due to 'ongoing work'.

According to ASTRA, since the beginning of the year, at least 50 bombs and three missiles have fallen from Russian planes on their own territory and Russian-occupied regions of Ukraine. In 2024, 165 'unexpected detachments' of munitions were recorded.

On May 4, 2024, a Russian plane dropped a FAB-500 on Belgorod, resulting in 7 people being injured, 31 homes and 10 cars damaged. Authorities concealed the reason for the bomb's fall, as well as the fact that it was Russian.
