Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office representative Dmitry Chubenko reported that the Russian army carried out about 20 strikes on Kharkiv, attacking four districts of the city with Geran-2 type drones. About 10 private houses were damaged, civilian enterprises, administrative buildings, hangars, warehouse and production facilities, as well as vehicles, were affected. Two people were injured — a man about 65 years old with shrapnel wounds to the head and a 55-year-old woman with an acute stress reaction.

In Dnipro, as a result of the Russian drone attack on the residential sector, five apartment buildings were damaged. In some of them, gas communications were damaged. There are also destructions in the private sector.

15 people aged 18 to 87 were injured, 8 people were hospitalized in moderate condition, one man is in intensive care in serious condition, reported the head of the regional military administration Sergey Lysak. "People have cuts, shrapnel injuries, bruises, traumatic brain injuries. Some needed help due to severe stress," added Lysak.

At night, Russia launched 55 drones at Ukraine from Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and annexed Crimea, reported the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, on April 8, at a UN Security Council meeting, Russia's permanent representative Vasily Nebenzya commented on the strike on Kryvyi Rih, which resulted in the death of 20 people, including 9 children, stating that all targets were achieved. Russia, despite all photos and videos, continues to claim that the target of the strike was "a meeting place for Ukrainian commanders and Western instructors." According to Nebenzya, Kyiv "immediately tried to shift the focus from military losses," accusing Russia of attacking civilians and using cluster munitions. He added that the Ukrainian side is trying to pass off its air defense failures as strikes by Russian Aerospace Forces. In addition, he accused Kyiv of ongoing shelling of Russian energy infrastructure.

U.S. representative to the UN Dorothy Shea stated that Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities threaten peace negotiations. "We urge the parties to exercise restraint and demonstrate a commitment to peace. In particular, we urge Russia to remember that strikes like the one on Kryvyi Rih, as well as the killing of prisoners of war, can jeopardize efforts for a peaceful settlement and upcoming negotiations," said the diplomat, noting that her country "will not show patience for long during protracted negotiations" and "will not tolerate breaches of commitments."
