The Supreme Court of the self-proclaimed DPR, established by Russia, sentenced a 17-year-old resident of Dokuchaevsk to six years and six months of imprisonment on charges of “state treason,” as noted by “Mediazona”*. The case was heard in a closed session.
According to the investigation, from October 2023 to March 2024, the teenager “carried out tasks for the Security Service of Ukraine”: he transmitted information about the location of Russian military personnel to the SBU from his mobile phone.
According to the prosecutor's office of the self-proclaimed DPR, the teenager will serve his sentence in a juvenile correctional facility. According to Russian law, after the age of 19, convicts are transferred to “adult” colonies.
After Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, teenagers have even been prosecuted under “terrorism” charges. According to “OVD-Info”*, at least seven minors are currently being prosecuted for political reasons with charges of “terrorism.” Two of them are in pre-trial detention, one — in a colony, and the cases of three minors — are at the investigation stage.
* Recognized as “foreign agents” in Russia.
