The family of Roman Deev, the former Minister of Internal Affairs of Bashkortostan, owns the Czech company DE LETOX s.r.o., established back in 2007 by his wife Oksana Deeva and, presumably, her mother Olga Letunovskaya, as discovered by «Sirena»*. When registering the company, they provided the same address in Tambov, Russia. Additionally, leak data shows that Oksana is listed in other people's contacts as «Ksyukha Letunovskaya».
The Czech business of the high-ranking security official's family is registered to a private house with an area of 140 square meters at the address 94 Sedlec, 25065 near Prague.
At the time of the company's founding, Deeva and Letunovskaya each held equal 50% shares. Then, in 2008, the structure changed slightly — 10% went personally to Roman Deev. In 2014, he and his wife formally withdrew from the list of owners, and since then, the business has been registered only to the former minister's mother-in-law. According to the publication, this decision might have been related to the desire to hide their Czech assets: under Russian law, Deev is not required to declare his wife's mother's property.
Roman Deev headed the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Bashkortostan from 2017, and before that held the same position in the Trans-Baikal Territory. He worked in the security structures since 1983 and retired in December 2022. The period when Deev led the Bashkir Ministry of Internal Affairs is directly associated with the suppression of protests in the region and repressions against the opposition. Under his leadership, rallies in defense of Mount Kushtau were dispersed, participants in actions supporting Alexei Navalny** were actively detained, and the former coordinator of the Ufa headquarters of the politician Lilia Chanysheva** was arrested. However, neither Deev nor his family members are under European sanctions.
