On March 11, talks between the United States of America and Ukraine will be held in the capital of Saudi Arabia, reported Jackie Heinrich, a correspondent for the American channel Fox News, on social media X. According to her, the American side will be represented by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, President's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and US National Security Advisor Michael Waltz: «On Tuesday, Rubio, Witkoff, and Waltz will head to Riyadh to meet with Ukrainians, including Yermak», she wrote.
At a European Council meeting, Volodymyr Zelensky also stated that the teams of Ukraine and the United States have resumed work, and a substantive meeting is expected next week, emphasizing that Ukraine has been striving for peace since the very first second of the war.
«We have always said that the only reason the war continues is Russia. Ukraine is not only ready to take the necessary steps for peace, but we are also proposing what these steps should be. And I ask you to support us in this — to support Ukraine and those European leaders who are helping to pave the way to peace», RBC-Ukraine quotes him.
Zelensky emphasized that as of now, everyone must ensure that Russia, as the sole source of this war, recognizes the need to end it. «This can be demonstrated by two types of silence that are easy to establish and control, namely: the absence of attacks on energy and other civilian infrastructure, that is, a ceasefire on the use of missiles, bombs, and long-range drones, and secondly — a ceasefire at sea, that is, the cessation of military operations in the Black Sea», explained the President of Ukraine.
Statements were also made today by the future US negotiator Marco Rubio during an interview on the channel Fox News. «From the very beginning, it was quite clear that President Trump views this as a prolonged, stalemated conflict. And, frankly, it's a proxy war between the United States, helping Ukraine, and Russia — and it needs to end. And no one has any ideas or plans on how to end it». According to Rubio, Russia has made «some progress», but there are no signs of victory for it, and Donald Trump wants to «find a path to peace» and intends to negotiate with both sides. Russia, Rubio claims, has expressed interest in negotiations, and it's important that Ukraine does not obstruct this.
