The bailiff service of Buryatia closed 108 enforcement proceedings against participants in the war against Ukraine, writing off their debts for a total amount of 10.2 million rubles, reports the portal «Sibir.Realii»* citing the press center of the department.
Earlier, the Russian authorities passed a law allowing debts to be written off under enforcement proceedings by signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense for a period of one year or more from December 1, 2024. The law applies to debts on loans of the war participant and their spouse for an amount not exceeding 10 million rubles. It also exempts war participants from the enforcement fee, which is seven percent of the debt or seized property, and extends credit holidays from 30 to 180 days after the contract ends or participation in the war ceases. However, applications for credit holidays could only be submitted until December 31, 2024.
The one-time regional payment in Buryatia for signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense is one of the lowest in the country — 500 thousand rubles.
According to «Lyudi Baikala», 2229 natives of Buryatia have died in the war in Ukraine.
