The EU did not recognize the elections in Belarus, Putin stated about «undoubted support for the state course by the population»

According to the election commission, more than 86.82% of voters voted for Alexander Lukashenko. Oleg Gaidukevich received 2.02% of the votes, Anna Kanopatskaya — 1.86%, Sergey Syrankov gained 3.21% of the votes, Alexander Khizhnyak — 1.74%, and 3.6% voted against all. This will be Lukashenko's seventh term as head of Belarus.

The final election results will be announced on February 3, but reactions followed before the official announcement. In Europe, the elections in Belarus were not recognized, emphasizing their fictitious and illegitimate nature. In Warsaw and Berlin, rallies were held with several thousand Belarusian citizens who were forced to leave after the elections and subsequent protests in 2020. «We already said our firm «no» to Lukashenko four years ago. And today, in response to his clownery, we can only repeat it», — stated Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, the real winner of the 2020 elections, from the stage in Warsaw.

Vladimir Putin, who also «reappointed» himself last March, congratulated Alexander Lukashenko on his «convincing victory», noting that this indicates «the high political authority of Lukashenko and the undoubted support for the state course by the population».
