This will allow the government to implement full control at the borders with neighboring countries

The faction of the Christian Democratic and Christian Social Union bloc (CDU/CSU) intends to bring to the Bundestag a resolution with proposals on migration policy, which includes a point on the need to declare an emergency in Germany due to the influx of illegal migrants, writes Bild. This will allow the government to implement full control at the borders with neighboring countries.

«If European measures do not work, it is Germany's and its government's duty to apply national legislation as a priority, as provided for in European agreements for emergencies», — stated in the document, which the publication reviewed.

The resolution also reports on «new levels of violence» that Germany has faced. In particular, it mentions an attack by an Afghan on passersby in the city of Aschaffenburg, resulting in the deaths of two people, including a child.

The faction plans to seek long-term border control, denial of entry to all foreigners who do not have permission to stay in the country. It also proposes the arrest of all individuals subject to deportation until their removal from Germany. Additionally, the faction suggests creating centers that will facilitate departure from Germany and increasing the number of deportation flights, including to Afghanistan and Syria.

At the same time, the resolution notes that combating illegal migration will also help reduce xenophobia and conspiracy theories, which the populist party «Alternative for Germany» spreads for political purposes.

The faction intends to bring the resolution to a vote next week.

On February 23, extraordinary parliamentary elections will be held in Germany.
