He was arrested in August on charges of embezzlement, now the FSB has reported new charges

Former CEO of "Plastic Logic" Boris Galkin is involved in the embezzlement of 13 billion rubles allocated by "Rosnano" for the production of plastic displays and gadgets, reports RIA "Novosti" citing the FSB's COS. At the end of August, the Meshchansky Court of Moscow arrested Galkin on charges of embezzlement.

According to the agency, the subsidiary company had neither the facilities nor the personnel to create innovative products, and the allocated funds were transferred abroad.

The FSB press release published a video of the "miracle tablet" presentation by "Rosnano" head Anatoly Chubais. The electronic tablet Plastic Logic 100 for schoolchildren was first presented to Vladimir Putin in 2011, with Chubais calling it "practically the only one in the world with flexible plastic screen technology without backlighting." However, in 2015 it had to be acknowledged that the project failed. Nevertheless, it was not closed and continued to be funded.

Two days ago, the speaker of the lower house of parliament Vyacheslav Volodin proposed extraditing former "Rosnano" head Anatoly Chubais to Russia, reported RBC. "Where is Chubais? Well, take him, extradite him," said Volodin, criticizing the electricity reform also carried out by Chubais.

Before moving to "Rosnano" in 2008, Anatoly Chubais headed the company RAO "UES of Russia," which was a monopoly in the electricity sector. Under Chubais's leadership, RAO "UES" was divided into 23 independent generating companies, and the monopoly was eliminated. In 2018, Chubais stated that the main goal of the reform was not demonopolization, competition, and market, but attracting investments, and this goal was achieved. In 2022, Chubais left the position of special representative of the president on sustainable development issues and left Russia. In the spring of 2024, he launched the Russian Studies Center at Tel Aviv University, which will study the history of Russia after the collapse of the USSR.
