UPD: Sarkisyan died in the hospital, medical services told TASS.
The explosion occurred around 9:45 MSK in the elite residential complex 'Scarlet Sails' on Aviatsionnaya Street. According to Baza, 'an IED detonated' or 'an object resembling a grenade exploded.' According to TASS, one person died, and four others were injured. Preliminary data suggests the explosive device had a power equivalent to 300-400 grams of TNT, reported the channel 'VChK-OGPU'*.
As 'Kommersant' writes, during the explosion, Viktor Yanukovych's associate Armen Sarkisyan was in the entrance, and he was hospitalized 'in extremely critical condition.' Security guards and a concierge were also injured. One of the guards died. Meanwhile, 'Interfax' reported that Sarkisyan himself died.
One of the injured — 44-year-old Darya Karseladze — sustained neck and leg injuries, she is conscious but cannot speak. Another injured person — 49-year-old Oleg Kasperovich — was hospitalized at the Sklifosovsky Research Institute.
The condition of the injured is assessed as serious, reported the Moscow Department of Health.
Armen Sarkisyan is the creator of the volunteer battalion 'ArBat' and head of the boxing federation 'DNR,' he is also referred to as the criminal authority 'Armen Gorlovsky.' In February 2024, Ukrainian authorities charged him with creating a combat group for Russia. The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police claim that Sarkisyan assembled a combat formation 'ArBAT' in Gorlovka, mainly composed of repeat offenders convicted of serious crimes. The group actively participated in hostilities against Ukraine, particularly in the Toretsk direction, and was later transferred to the Kursk region.
Sarkisyan is also accused of committing crimes during the Euromaidan, particularly in organizing 'titushki' groups that attacked protesters. His group is suspected of involvement in the murder of journalist Vyacheslav Veremiy.
Armen Sarkisyan has been internationally wanted since 2014 and is considered close to former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
